Bigger Than I Ever Dreamed: Why We’re Expanding Travelers Rest Pet Sitting

It's about time
It's about time

As many of you know, I started pet sitting on Rover — just to see what might happen.

I stayed fully booked.

Eventually, I thought, “What if I tried doing this on my own?”

So I launched Travelers Rest Pet Sitting to test the waters.

And it worked.

Then last year, we started hiring — and wow, it blew up way more than I expected.

We went from a one-person operation to a full network of sitters, and suddenly we were serving families all across the Upstate.

Truthfully, I never imagined this kind of growth.

What started as a side hustle — something Sarah and I could enjoy together, meet some great people, and care for a few pets — has turned into something so much bigger.

Now, the reality is: I might be able to leave my full-time job in the near future.

That possibility exists because of you — your trust in us, your referrals, your belief that we could provide the kind of care your pets deserve.

And that’s exactly what we aim to do.

As we expand into Easley, Greer, and Taylors, our goal stays the same:

To create a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for every pet in our care.

Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit or an overnight stay, we want pets to feel right at home.

And that only happens with the right people.

That’s why we’re focused on hiring top-tier sitters — people who are true “pet people.” Folks who love animals, not just the idea of flexible side money. Sitters who care, who show up, and who treat your pets like their own.

This growth is exciting, but it’s not about getting bigger just to get bigger.

It’s about building something meaningful — for our clients, for our sitters, and for the pets that bring us all together.

Thanks for being part of the journey.

We’re just getting started — and we’re so glad you’re here.
