Are there any special requirements?

We require that all pups in our care are up-to-date on their vaccinations including Kennel Cough and Rabies.  We also require that pets be crate trained.

My dog isn't fixed. Do you still allow unfixed pets?

We have a general policy of ensuring the well-being and safety of all the pups under our care by requesting that they be spayed or neutered before joining our household. While we typically adhere to this guideline, there may be exceptions in certain circumstances. Generally, we do accommodate puppies under 1 year old. If you have any questions or would like to inquire about availability, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

How do you handle aggressive pets?

We prioritize the safety and well-being of every pup entrusted to our care, aiming to have them return home just as healthy and happy as they arrived, if not more so. To maintain this commitment, we uphold a stringent zero-tolerance policy concerning aggression, whether it's related to food or toys. While we understand that dogs can be spirited and full of energy, we distinguish this from true aggression. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out; we're here to assist.

Are you open on holidays?

Our holiday schedule varies. We try our best to be open most holidays but due to our limited availability, sometimes we cannot accommodate all requests. Most major holidays fill up 1 - 2 months out. Our holidays are considered the Friday before the holiday to the Sunday after the holiday. Our holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.

What is your facility like?

At Travelers Rest Pet Sitting we don't have a "facility". We have a network of sitters around Travelers Rest that board pups out of their homes.

What about crates?

We require that all pups in our care be crate trained, prioritizing their safety and well-being. Nevertheless, we understand that each pup is unique, and we make case-by-case decisions regarding whether they can remain outside their crates. Our ultimate aim is to provide the best care for every individual pup, taking into account their specific needs and behaviors. Most of the time, pups never see the inside of a crate, but we still require they be trained in case we need to crate.
